“I have been an image consultant, personal shopper, and life coach in the greater Houston area for over 35 years. Many of the calls I receive are from people who are in need of help with finding their personality in the overwhelming options presented to them in today’s retail stores. With each client, I look at their items and we decide what can be altered to fit their style and body, what can be sent to a consignment store, and what can be donated. I have always had the dream of taking my services to the next level: Seeing my clients’ gently used items go to charities in our community.
It has been so humbling to see that my clients want to help make a difference, and will often choose to donate their items instead of sending them to consignment stores.
I am so blessed that Transformations By Maria has been able to become so involved, and how quickly this has taken off with client participation! We look forward to the future and to continuing our efforts to help those in need.” – Maria Cummings

“My fiancé and I had recently come to Houston because a friend of mine had told me about her experience with a local foundation that helps people with stories like mine get a fresh start on life and that is what we wanted. We didn’t have anything to bring with us… We were sleeping on the floor, or on a couch without blankets.
“When I heard about Maria and that she had furniture that her clients had donated, I called to get her help. It’s difficult to put into words how happy I was after my first visit with Maria… by the time we left, we had everything we needed! I look forward to the days that I volunteer with Transformations By Maria, helping to sort and organize incoming donations for other people in need, because I don’t know what I would have done without her.
“Maria is God’s angel at work to make this a better place and she changes lives for the better. My heart goes out to her for all the wonderful things she has accomplished and will continue to accomplish.”
